A few cloudy days and no rain or lightening, so different to Panama, from what we are hearing.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/image-2-e1483735250119.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4873\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/image-2-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Audrey &amp; Grant decided to do some travel in Ecuador &amp; Peru as well, so booked a condo up the road near Canoa to celebrate Christmas with us. Definitely enjoyed a few nice sunsets on the balcony, with just a few drinks as you do.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/image-e1483289634553.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4868\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/image-e1483289634553.jpeg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"642\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/image-1-e1483289835168.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4869\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/image-1-e1483289835168.jpeg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"642\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThey weren&#8217;t used to no snow on Xmas day, but I think they enjoyed the walk on the beach and jumping the waves in the Pacific Ocean. Fireworks and a free band on the street with lots of people hanging out enjoying it. At midnight people bring their painted effigies of politicians, pop culture figures, and other icons of the year to torch in the streets. They come in all shapes &amp; sizes.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_1162-e1483288427238.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4863\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_1162-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"img_1162\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis tradition of burning the \u201ca\u00f1o viejo\u201d (\u201cold year\u201d) is symbolic of cleansing the bad from the previous 12 months before entering the new year. They also light lanterns and send them up over the bay. All very cool to watch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_1167-e1483289138225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-4864 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_1167-e1483289108996-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_1167\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_1173-e1483289061406.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4865\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_1173-e1483288952202-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_1173\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Got to meet some of the local gringos and the staff, while at Puerto Amistad.
