{"id":5132,"date":"2017-07-25T08:02:14","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T15:02:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/?p=5132"},"modified":"2022-01-16T09:12:53","modified_gmt":"2022-01-16T16:12:53","slug":"beveridge-reef","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/?p=5132","title":{"rendered":"Beveridge Reef"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Along with friends Aline &amp; Luc from S\/V Oceana1 we left for Beveridge Reef arriving at this amazing atoll\/ reef in the middle of the ocean.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-e1503065592284.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5138\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-e1503065592284.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a>Once inside, it was breathtaking with turquoise and deep blue shades of water and waves crashing onto the coral reef.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5135\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image.jpeg 640w, http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-400x300.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>No land here just a small fishing boat wreck where a boobie rested when we weren&#8217;t bugging him. Snorkeling the coral heads near the entrance was a treat with lots of large reef fish who were very friendly and the odd shark lurking.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5137\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-1.jpeg 640w, http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/www.seismicwave.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/image-1-400x300.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>We only had just over 10 knots of wind but at high tide there was a chop in the lagoon, which made it very rolly even for us on a catamaran. Special place to stay but it was onward bound to Niue with a good weather window and time for more fishing.
